The Amazon Needs You

This unique and irreplaceable natural treasure is burning. These devastating fires add to the historical pressures that the Amazon rain forest has suffered and increase the risk that one of the most biodiverse places on the planet changes to the point that there is little we can do to conserve it. Your help is vital.

Faced with this ecological devastation, WWF is calling on the countries of the region - Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, and Suriname - to protect the Amazon, combat deforestation and reduce the causes of fires.

Join hundreds of thousands of people around the world by taking action today to protect the Amazon.

Almost 73,000 fires have been recorded in the Amazon rain forest already this year—85% more fires than were seen in the whole of 2018.

If this vital ecosystem continues to burn, the implications for life on Earth will be astronomical. This is a global crisis that cannot be ignored.

I stand with WWF and ask that you take swift action to protect the Amazon.
