Join WWF for our first-ever Species Step Challenge! Throughout the month of October, make a commitment to conservation and challenge yourself to take on either 5,000 or 10,000 steps a day and fundraise along the way to protect our planet’s magnificent species and their home.

This step challenge is about more than just logging steps each day. It’s about taking steps to create a climate-resilient, zero-carbon world. It’s about taking steps to drive sustainable food systems to conserve nature and feed humanity. It’s about taking steps to safeguard the world’s most important forests to sustain nature’s diversity. It’s about taking steps to end the flow of plastic into our oceans and secure freshwater for people and nature. And, it’s about taking steps to ensure the world’s most iconic species are able to live and thrive in the wild.

WWF works to create solutions to some of the world’s biggest and toughest challenges, but we can only do so with help from people like you. Help us build a future where people live in harmony with nature. Join us for WWF’s Species Step Challenge.

Help us reach our new goal of $125,000!

Thanks to all our amazing fundraisers, we've surpassed our original goal of $100,000. Let's see how much more we can raise together for our planet!

FAQs

It's not too late! You can still register for this event. MoveSpring will backload your step data, so you can join late and still have a chance at being Top Stepper!

You can track your steps through an app called MoveSpring. Upon registration, you'll receive a link and code to sign up for our challenge through MoveSpring. MoveSpring will pull your step data from popular fitness tracking devices like Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin, etc. Most phones use an accelerometer to measure steps and distance traveled so if you keep your phone with you, you don’t need to purchase a tracker or pedometer to participate.

When you register, you'll receive a link to download MoveSpring and the code to sign up for our challenge. The information to download MoveSpring will also appear in your Panda Nation Center.

There is no fundraising requirement to participate, but there is a one-time registration fee of $35. Fundraising is encouraged and you can receive a Species Step Challenge shirt if you raise $100 or more.

Please feel free to reach out to the Panda Nation team at any time at PandaNation@wwfus.org and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
