Preparing for Wear It Wild:

  • Update your Wear It Wild fundraising page to let people know why you’ve decided to be fierce for wildlife and nature. Choose one of fundraising page photos from the resources section below to update your page or upload your own photo.
  • Donate to your own fundraising page to kickstart your fundraising momentum. You don’t have to give big — just give something. Whether it’s $5 or $50, your donation sets an example for the friends and family you’ll be asking for donations.
  • Connect your fundraising page with Facebook. Log in to your Panda Nation Center and you should see a blue box that says "Reach Your Goal Fast". Click the button in this box that says ‘Connect Fundraiser to Facebook’, input your Facebook log in information, and you’ll be connected in no time!
  • Spread the word! Let your friends and family know about your commitment to conservation via social media, email, or text. Ask them to virtually join you for this wild challenge or contribute to your fundraiser. Start with a small group to get momentum, and then spread the word to everyone you know. Not sure what to say? When it's time to Wear It Wild:

  • Get wild! Depending on what you were able to fundraise, get out your animal ears, animal print clothes, or costume and get wild! Need some inspiration? Check out our resources section below for a few ways to Wear It Wild!
  • Reflect on why you decided to take on the Wear It Wild challenge and what WWF’s mission means to you. Share it with your friends and family. Let them know why you’re fundraising for WWF and that there is still time to contribute if they’d like to help support WWF’s global conservation efforts.
  • Follow up. While most people might plan to donate to your fundraiser, some will forget. We all get distracted and your potential donors are no exception. Regular updates are a great way to remind people about something they intended to do anyway. Send a follow-up email or post an update to share your fundraising progress or pictures of your wild costume and let people know there is still time to give.
  • Running low on animal print clothes or accessories? That's okay! Here are some ideas to maximize what you have so you don't have to buy anything new to participate:
    • Try a time-based goal! If you have one animal print accessory or piece of clothing, commit to wearing it in public for one hour if you reach $100, two hours if you raise $200, three hours if you raise $300, etc.
    • If you're feeling crafty, try DIY-ing your own wildlife-themed costume.
    • Try face painting. Draw some animal whiskers on your nose or check out this face painting guide from our friends at WWF UK.
    • Download and print out one of our animal masks to wear.
    • Use a Zoom filter! Use a fun filter or a wildlife-themed background to Wear It Wild virtually.

What to do after Wear It Wild:

  • Post any photos you took while Wearing It Wild to social media with the hashtag #WearItWild and tag us @wwfpandanation to share your experience and connect with the WWF community.
    • When posting about your fundraising page on Instagram, remember to put the link to your fundraising page in your bio and then reference the link in bio in your Instagram post
    • Use the #WearItWild hashtag to connect with the WWF community and tag us at @wwfpandanation to keep us in the loop! Just a reminder that we can only see posts from accounts that are public.
    • Mix up your posts so they don’t feel repetitive. Share facts about your favorite animal, what your inspiration was for your Wear It Wild outfit, updates on your fundraising progress, the awesome Wear It Wild swag you've received, and conservation tips to help people make a difference in their daily lives.
    • Tag your donors when you thank them on social media to give them credit—this will softly remind others who haven’t donated yet that there’s still time.
  • Thank your donors! Send an email or text message to let your donors know how you wore it wild and how much their donation meant to you.
