PANDA AMBASSADOR

PROGRAM APPLICATION

If you’re ready to take your environmental activism to the next step, apply below to become a Panda Ambassador. Being a Panda Ambassador takes time, commitment, and hard work, but it’s also an exciting way to effect real change within your community and on a national and global scale.

As a Panda Ambassador, you decide which issues matter most to you and we’ll make sure you have everything you need to start making a difference. You’ll get access to toolkits, presentations, event ideas and opportunities, and guidance from WWF scientists and experts. You’ll also join our nationwide network of Ambassadors to share ideas, experiences, and support for your conservation efforts.

After you submit your application, we’ll take a look and then set up a phone call to talk in detail about the program and how you can be a part of it.

You must be 18 or older and a current US resident to apply. If you don’t qualify but still want to volunteer, there are plenty of other ways to help! Check out the Action Center to get started.

What have you done as a Panda Ambassador that you are most proud of?
Being a Panda Ambassador truly changed my life. WWF lit a fire inside me that caused me to truly try and change things.

What do you think is the most important thing people can do to help save the planet?
To save something you have to care about it. If we are going to make an impact we have to develop a passion for the Earth.

What environmental issues concern you most?
Plastic, especially single-use plastic, is most concerning. The process of resourcing and producing plastic is just as much a part of the problem as where it ends up.

What gives you hope for the future?
I have hope when I hear small children talking about animals and the Earth in a way other generations have not. They know it’s important. It gives me so much hope to hear that young people are passionate to fix this.

The proudest moment for me was holding my first club meeting and realizing that there are other young people who are just as concerned with the environment and animals as I am. It’s great to know that the next generation is not going to just give up on such a gargantuan challenge.

What do you think is the most important thing people can do to help save the planet?
A great starting point for people is just to be aware of what is happening to the Earth. Once people realize how dire the situation is, it is most important to be aware of how much waste a single person is creating. I try my best to create as little waste as possible, and even though it does not seem like much, the results could be exponential. I know WWF has some great programs to help explain how to cut down on waste, and therefore reduce your carbon footprint.

What environmental issue concerns you most?
Global climate change—the evidence of the changes in our atmosphere can be seen everywhere.

What gives you hope for the future?
It is extremely encouraging to go to something like the Earth Day parade, and see how many people are aware of the situation we are in.
