Yes! Safety is our main priority at this event. All participants will be required to wear a US Coast Guard certified Personal Flotation Device.
A personal fundraising page is generated for you during registration. You will use this page to fundraise for WWF to reach your $150 fundraising minimum.
If you are participating in the 5K relay event, there will be one team fundraising page and each individual participant will have their own personal fundraising page. All members of the team will share the team’s fundraising goal. Donors can contribute to a personal page, team page, or both!
During registration, you will be asked how you would like to participate. Here you will have to choose the 2-person relay or the 4-person relay depending on what team your friend has created. Then, click “Join a Team.” You will then be prompted to input the Team Name and click “Search”. Your friend’s team name should appear, and you can click “Join”. If your friend created a Team Password during registration you will be prompted to input that information on the next screen. Follow the rest of the registration steps and you will be all set!
We require that our Panda Paddle participants fundraise a minimum of $150 to participate in the event. There is no fundraising minimum for the virtual race, though you will need to raise $150 or more to qualify for a Panda Paddle tshirt.
In order to participate in the Panda Paddle, you will be required to reach your fundraising minimum of $150 or commit to your fundraising by providing a credit card. If you provide WWF with your credit card information, you will have until one month after the race to meet your fundraising minimum of $150. After that date, your card will be charged any remaining balance.
If you don’t reach your fundraising minimum by race day, you will need to provide a credit card to guarantee that you will reach your fundraising minimum by November 20, 2018 (one month after the event). If you have a remaining balance on November 21, we will charge the difference between the fundraising minimum ($150) and what you have raised to date to the credit card you provided to us.
Your fundraising minimum is the minimum amount that you're required to raise in order to participate in Panda Paddle. For the 2018 Panda Paddle in San Diego, that fundraising minimum is $150. There is no minimum to participate virtually.
Your fundraising goal is the amount you're telling your friends and family you'd to raise to help protect our planet. A higher fundraising goal can inspire larger donations and the more you raise, the more we can do to help protect our planet.

In this section you can check the box that reads, “Please don’t include my name in the public donor roster.” Please note the person who you donate to will be notified that you gave a donation, your name just won't appear in any public recognitions of your gift. If you would like a different name to show up when you make a donation, you can enter it into the field that reads, “How would you like your name to appear in the donor roster?”
Find the Panda Paddle member whose page you would like to make a gift to. Under the “Donate Now” button, there is a smaller link that reads, “Or, download this form to mail in a donation.” Please print and fill out the form that generates. Then send it to the address listed at the top of the form and when we receive your check, we will know where to credit your donation.
Panda Paddle Impact
The funds you raise through your Panda Paddle page go toward supporting WWF’s global conservation efforts, including protecting endangered species, preserving threatened species, and addressing global threats such as deforestation. Thanks to the donations made through your Panda Paddle page, WWF is also working to empower people to conserve resources, while improving their livelihoods.
All of the funds raised through Panda Paddle support our global conservation efforts—we are not able to direct the donations toward a specific species. The donations received through your fundraising page will allow us to help protect species around the world as well as reduce threats that many habitats face to allow species and communities to thrive.
