What's up everybody?! Guess what? I will be running in the NYC Half Marathon! This is the first race like this that I have ever done. I mean, besides the odd 5k here and there. With those races you just sign up and pay an affordable entrance fee. With the NYC Half it is a little bit different. And here is where I need your help. Unlike your local races, this race requires a bit more of a commitment both in time training and also financially. As you may know, besides the two human animals in our home and back yard, we are also home to 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 Gerbils, and 7 Chickens. Needless to say we are an animal loving family. So I have partnered with The world Wildlife Fund to run with and raise money for in order to receive a spot in the race.
I am fundraising for World Wildlife Fund by running in the United Airlines NYC Half on March 20. I have donated to them before and will continue to do so through our efforts here. It is truly important to invest in the natural world. All the animals who live on this planet, us included, count on the preservation of nature and natural habitats.
Deforestation, climate change, water scarcity, and illegal wildlife trade. These are some of the threats facing our planet today—and no one person or group can tackle them alone.
You can protect the very things that keep us alive: our forests, our oceans, our fresh water, our wildlife, our energy supply, our food supply.
Your donation today will help make it possible to protect the future of nature. And will allow me to run in this race.
Thank you for giving what you can.
Y'all Rock! -Matt
