Running for Dad ( and wildlife! )
Or, download this form to mail in a donation.
Hi Friends,
As many of you know, my Dad passed away in June. I have been looking for a way to work through my grief and for a way to honor him. He was an avid runner and inspired me to run my first marathon many, many years ago.
He ran the NYC marathon 6 times ( in the late 70’s/early 80’s ) and I remember going to New York to cheer him on. I had no idea that one day I’d become a marathoner and eventually run the same race.
In his obituary, my mom asked that donations be made to the World Wildlife Foundation in my dad’s name. My dad was also an animal lover ( another trait I inherited. ) I found out that the WWF is a charity partner for the NYC marathon and a plan was set in motion.
I only just found out that I’m accepted into this year’s race. Now, I have to raise $3000 before race day- November 5th. Please consider making a donation for both my animal loving Dad and for our beautiful wild planet that needs our help!
Here’s some info that the WWF provided to help you know why they need support: Deforestation, climate change, water scarcity, and illegal wildlife trade. These are some of the threats facing our planet today—and no one person or group can tackle them alone.
But if we work together, we can take on anything. That’s why every day, WWF works in unity with many people, partners, and institutions to achieve lasting conservation solutions.
You can be part of those solutions. You can protect the very things that keep us alive: our forests, our oceans, our fresh water, our wildlife, our energy supply, our food supply.
Your donation today will help make it possible to protect the future of nature.
Thank you for giving what you can.
