Robbie's Marathon Fundraiser
It’s very easy to become complacent, even about things we care about, in our everyday routines and busy lives. I just took a trip to Utah and the wildfires in California are so bad that you can’t even see the blue Utah sky on a sunny day (because of all the smoke and debris). We drove from Utah to Baggs Wyoming all the way into Denver Colorado. During one of the car rides, we talked about our planet and the environment. I've watched all the documentaries about the imminent danger to the earth's ecosystem and biodiversity. Although I care so much about preserving it I have never really done anything significant to reduce my footprint or more importantly help others reduce theirs. There are some staggering statistics about the damage we've already done but I won't inundate everyone with them. People often act when it's too late and you can actually see the damage/result of our actions. World Wildlife Fund is doing a great job of preventing it from getting to that point.
This fundraiser and marathon is my way of getting out of the comfort of my everyday routine and really try and help make an impact. I can't think of a better charity to support. Anything you donate would mean a lot to me and to this great cause.
I am fundraising for World Wildlife Fund (which helps tackles Deforestation, climate change, water scarcity, Wildfires, illegal wildlife trade, and much more) by running in the New York City Marathon on November 7, 2021. 100% of your donation will go to this charity.
