Noah's Fund Raising Page for WWF

I am fundraising for World Wildlife Fund for my bar mitzvah because I want to protect the future of nature. Specifically, I want to help save tigers and tiger habitat.

Deforestation, climate change, water scarcity, and illegal wildlife trade. These are some of the threats facing tigers today—and no one person or group can tackle them alone. But if we work together, we can take on anything.

I am inspired by the World Wildlife Fund for a few reasons. First, I love animals! When I was very young, I could name every breed of horse. And my name is Noah, after all! The biblical Noah built an ark to save all the world’s animals from a great flood. When I learned that some animals are under threat, I felt really upset, so I wanted to try to stop these problems. I learned that some people are making billions off of killing animals and this is wrong. I think we should respect animals and the natural world where they live.

Raising funds to protect tigers through WWF is my bar mitvah social justice project. Caring for animals is a Jewish value -- in Hebrew it is called: "tsa'ar ba'alei hayim" -- the requirement to prevent the suffering of living creatures.
