While the word "mitzvah" means "command" or "commandment", it is commonly defined as "a good deed" and selecting a mitzvah project as part of one's Bar Mitzvah is a tradition.
I have chosen to support the World Wildlife Fund for my Bar Mitzvah project.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is an organization that helps save animals' lives as well as their natural habitats and homes, too. They have six main things they work on: Climate, Food, Forests, Freshwater, Oceans, and Wildlife. WWF has been saving endangered species live’s for over 60 years!
I think it is important to help these animals because without them we could also die. For example, bees are very endangered right now, and since bees help pollinate plants and flowers, over 90% of all crops will die along with flowers and other plants. This will make it hard for herbivores (plant-eating animals) to survive which will make it hard for carnivores (meat eating animals) to survive which will make it very hard for humans and other omnivores (both plant and meat eaters) to survive. If we’re not careful, this can destroy the planet. However, if we all do our part we can make a difference.
This is why it is important to donate to WWF so they can save the animals and their habitats and make it so the earth survives for a while longer.
I would be honored if you would consider making a donation in honor of my bar mitzvah and help me reach my fundraising goal! Thank you for giving what you can.
Love,
Liam
