Welcome to My 5K for Nature Fundraising Page
I am fundraising for World Wildlife Fund by participating in their 5K for Nature during the first week of June. My goal for this 5K walk ensure my physical fitness for my trip in July: "Belugas, Bears & Summer Wildlife of Churchill, Manitoba, with Natural Habitat Adventures, a partner organization.
Due to climate change, the Arctic is heating up twice as fast as anywhere else on the planet, shrinking the Arctic sea ice cover by 14% per decade. The loss of sea ice habitis the biggest threat to the survival of Arctic animals, as it alters their habitat and food source.
In the Arctic, WWF has many projects to protect wildlife in this region. WWF monitors whale health, protects whales from ocean noise, ensures sustainable hunting, protects critical habitats, monitors wildlife populations and reduces conflict.
There are many threats facing our planet today - and no one person or group can tackle them alone.
But if we work together, we can take on anything. That is why every day, WWF works in unity with many people, partners, and institutions to achieve lasting conservation solutions.
You can be part of those solutions. You can protect the very things that keep us alive: our forests, our oceans, our fresh water, our wildlife including polar bears, our energy supply, our food supply.
Your donation today will help make it possible to protect the future of nature.
Thank you for giving what you can.
