Hi Folks! We are doing our fundraising paddle again in 2022! Our goal is to raise $2,000 for the World Wildlife Fund for ocean conservation. We plan on paddling August 19th (depending on weather and tides) and are still aiming to raise our goal of $2,000 for the World Wildlife Fund!

Our route will be around Guemes Island again this year, but we will be starting at Youngs Park this time to avoid the heavy ship traffic in Guemes Channel.

To our friends, family, neighbors and colleagues,

When you love something, you do everything you can to protect it. That’s why we have decided to join the World Wildlife Fund’s Panda Paddle (named for the WWF panda logo) to raise money to support ocean and habitat restoration projects that the WWF funds around the globe. We have visited several WWF funded parks and preserves, so have seen first hand the important work they do.

Randy and I met through kayaking, and we go kayaking every chance we get! in fact, we have kayaked all over the world in places such as: Lake Champlain, Vermont; Isla Espirito Santo, Baja CA; in Australia around islands in the GBR; in the Gulf of Mexico off the Coast of Florida, and in Hong Kong around Lamma island. Although we have enjoyed every adventure-our favorite paddling is right here at home in Washington State in the San Juan Islands.

In homage to the San Juan Islands, on August 20 we will be doing a paddle around Guemes Island, one of the San Juan Islands that is close to our home in Anacortes, WA to raise money for the WWF. Due to strong currents, possible wind, and distance (approximately 15 miles around the island) this will be a challenging full day paddle.

We will be putting our all into this paddle-will you help us by donating to our Panda Paddle page today? Conservation is the most important part of this event, and every dollar you provide helps address our planet’s interconnected challenges.

Thank you for helping us protect the natural world and all it gives!

Ann & Randy
